Mexborough Community Partnership have teamed up with D.M.B.C Neighbourhood Team and British Waterways to clean-up the stretch of the canal which runs through Mexborough.
The area around the canal is a favourite with dog walkers and families, and can be beautiful on a warm summers day or a cold and frosty morning.
The paths and surrounding areas are currently overgrown and littered with rubbish which is spoiling the area for other residents.
Mexborough Community Partnership, D.M.B.C's Neighbourhood Team, British Waterways and local volunteers have decided to tackle this problem by holding a Community Clean-Up on Wednesday 25th May 2011. We will be leaving from Mexborough Resource Centre at 10am prompt.
All volunteers are welcome all we ask is you contact us in advance so we can ensure that correct risk assesments
are completed prior to the event.
